Yes it's True....

Faithful readers, I want to elaborate on Greg's Post. If you have not heard the awful, awful news- the last resort is indeed closed for the rest of the summer by mandate of the police and the landlord. Too bad Greg couldn't have showcased his new summer tunes for the final LR bash, which did indeed have about 60 russians in attendence, but Dean atleast ended it in style as seen in the picture below:
So now there will be quiet hours instated at 11pm and a ban on the fire pit. I doubt I will get to have any dance sessions in the tool shed, or guided tours through the enchanted forest; in essence an era has ended. Please send your support and kind words to the Baker Bros, they still would like friends of the LR to stop by and chat but as of now, there will be no more summer bashes because the OOB renter cops are just too scared to deal with us.

The Last Resort has seen its days of debauchery come to an end

Stopped by the Last Resort last night looking to spread some cheer, drink a few tallboys and play my harmonica but alas, good times were not in the air. Due to a recent celebration involving a keg, about 60 people from the Eastern Block and 3 visits from the local PD, the resort has been forced into a shuttered existence. No more fires, music or good times are to be had. Where will this lonely soul play my harmonica in the wee hours of the night? Who will be around to make sure Dean is still breathing? The unknown lies ahead and the future looks bleak.

Best Perk, It's Always Opened!

When the bars close in OOB, the night begins at The Last Resort. Don't worry if the owners are asleep by the fire, they stand true to their "Always Open" policy as seen in the picture below. If you're one who plans ahead, its a good idea to stash some alcoholic beverages away in the enchanted forest because the stores around here close at 1am. If you don't plan ahead, no worries- the last resort always has something on reserve!

For those music lovers I've got good news for you: one of the hottest DJs in town, Dimez Baker, plays live shows exclusively from the tool shed. He's well equipped with two turn tables and an eclectic array of records ranging from Wu-Tang to Etta James. If you're lucky he might even give you a free scratch lesson.

The music is enjoyable but the real gem here is the owner himself. He goes by many names: Dean "Double Ringer" Baker, Prince Valiant, Monkey Bone, Non Soberius, the list goes on, but he is most commonly known as El Deanyo. El Deanyo steals the show every night with his unmatched dance moves. Battlers be weary- this guy has NEVER lost a dance off, even when he lost his shoes! He performs regularly at the Oasis in downtown Old Orchard but to catch a glimpse of his new moves you really got to catch him in the tool shed.

Sadly, I haven't visited The Last Resort since Winter so I am anxious to test out the new horseshoe pit. You'll surely find me here Memorial Day Weekend, hope to see you too!
